“Country bumpkin, you've ruined us.”

“Brother Kun, it was that guy who offended Young Master Qi. Just deal with him and let us go.”

“It’s all that guy’s fault. Get rid of him and it’s over. It has nothing to do with us.”

Xu Yunyao and the others all pointed their fingers at Lu Fei.

Xue Kun sneered, “I don’t care about the rest. Today, Jiang Meijia must be mine!”

As he spoke, he reached for Jiang Meijia, attempting to drag her out of the car.

Just then—bang!

In a flash, Xue Kun’s arm was shattered, and his body stumbled back more than ten steps before he landed heavily on the ground.

“Ah!”

He let out a heart-wrenching scream.

His entire arm was crippled!

The people on the outskirts hadn’t seen what happened and looked bewildered.

But those nearby—Xu Yunyao, Li Neng, and the others—were dumbfounded, as if they had seen a monster.

Just now… was it Lu Fei who struck?

At the center of it all, Jiang Meijia’s heart pounded wildly.

She took a deep breath, gazing at Lu Fei in disbelief. His actions had completely changed her impression of him.

It seemed Lu Fei was not only skilled in medicine, but also in martial arts.

Lu Fei pushed open the car door and walked confidently toward the group of thugs.

“Lu Fei, what are you trying to do?”

“Do you think you’re Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan, daring to stand against Brother Kun?”

“Hurry up and apologize to Brother Kun!”

After their initial shock, Xu Yunyao, Li Neng, and the others began to scold Lu Fei once more.

Though Lu Fei was formidable, he couldn’t fight ten men at once. He might’ve knocked down Xue Kun, but could he defeat all ten of his men?

They chose to side with Xue Kun, hoping to win his favor by reprimanding Lu Fei, and perhaps be spared.

“Kid! Apologies won’t cut it. You dared to lay hands on Brother Kun. Today, you must die!”

One of Xue Kun’s men yelled viciously.

Lu Fei slapped him across the face.

With a whoosh, the man was sent flying, spinning a dozen times midair before crashing heavily to the ground.

The sound echoed—everyone was terrified.

This time, Xu Yunyao and the others truly fell silent.

Xue Kun, though, refused to submit. His arm was ruined, but his mouth remained stubborn.

“You little bastard, you’re courting death!”

“Everyone, attack him together!”

More than ten men charged at Lu Fei.

Smack, smack, smack!

Only the dull thud of fists landing could be heard.

In the blink of an eye, all ten men were sent flying, collapsing on the ground, each coughing up blood and crying out in agony.

He won?

He actually won!

Xu Yunyao and the others were stupefied.

One man against ten, and he prevailed!

For a moment, the incredulity was overwhelming, but as they realized the crisis had ended, they breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Lu Fei strode up to Xue Kun.

He planted his foot on Xue Kun’s face, grinding his head into the dirt.

Xue Kun struggled with all his might to lift his head and resist Lu Fei.

“You bastard! Do you know who my big brother is? Let me go!”

“My big brother is Hao Long! I’ll count to three, and if you don’t let me go, I, Xue Kun, and you, will—”

Before he could finish, Lu Fei pressed harder, forcing his head into the earth.

After all was done, Lu Fei returned to the car.

Jiang Meijia was utterly stunned.

“You… you can fight like that?”

“You didn’t notice before?” Lu Fei lamented.

Jiang Meijia’s cheeks flushed crimson.

Indeed, judging from Lu Fei’s previous demeanor, robust like an ox, his performance now was only natural—she should have seen it coming.

Lu Fei smoothly reversed the car, shooting out from between two SUVs.

The night was pitch-black, bathing the land in darkness. They were deep in the wilds, shrouded in gloom.

All was silent around them.

Xu Yunyao, Li Neng, and the others took a long time to recover, unable to believe Lu Fei had so violently resolved the day’s crisis.

“Let’s go! Are you waiting for them to recover?”

A voice rang out, and Xu Yunyao and the others hurried into their cars and sped away.

Meanwhile, in Lu Fei’s sports car—

Jiang Meijia took deep breaths, steadying herself.

“Your skills are incredible,” she praised from the heart.

“Those little punks—I didn’t even use ten percent of my strength.”

“Don’t get cocky just yet. Remember what Xue Kun said?”

“Which part?”

“His big brother is Hao Long!”

“So what if he’s Hao Long? Even if he’s a real dragon, I’ll make him cry for his mother.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. This isn’t an age where brute force wins. No matter how strong you are, can you beat modern weapons? Hao Long really has that kind of power.”

“He’d better have some skill, or else I’d find it boring.”

Lu Fei was noncommittal, not at all concerned about Hao Long.

Soon, they reached the hotel’s underground parking lot.

Tonight, they would stay at the hotel.

Just as Jiang Meijia was about to get out, Lu Fei grabbed her wrist.

“What is it?”

Lu Fei beamed, “Did you forget the promise you made me?”

Jiang Meijia asked, “What promise?”

“A reward!”

Her pretty face flushed instantly, and she spat at him, “You’re so shameless! Go to the room first, I need a shower before we talk.”

But Lu Fei ignored her protests, pressed her legs down, and trapped her against the wall.

“What are you doing? Let me go.”

“Not here.”

“You scoundrel.”

“Mmm…”

Moments later, the car rocked violently.

It wasn’t until dawn that the two finally got out.

Jiang Meijia’s legs were weak; she had to lean against the wall to walk.

In the end, Lu Fei simply picked her up and carried her back to their hotel room.

Nestled in Lu Fei’s arms, Jiang Meijia felt a sense of security for the first time.

Even her parents hadn’t given her such comfort.

“Now you know how formidable your husband is,” Lu Fei boasted.

Jiang Meijia snorted, “Don’t get full of yourself. Remember, you belong to me. You have to listen to me. Don’t think saving me once gives you any other rights!”

She spoke proudly.

She knew she couldn’t truly control Lu Fei, but she refused to back down verbally.

In their relationship, she had to hold the dominant position.

Lu Fei shrugged, unconcerned; as long as he was the one truly in control, that was enough.

The two returned to the hotel and fell asleep in each other’s arms.

After the tumultuous events in the car, Jiang Meijia slept deeply.

Early the next morning, Lu Fei was awakened by a phone call.

He answered, and Xue Kun’s voice came through.

“Such beautiful twin flowers—you really are lucky, kid.”

“Brother Lu, please… save my sister. I beg you… save my sister…”

It was Bai Qingxue’s voice.

Lu Fei’s eyes grew sharp. He hadn’t expected that, after showing mercy last night and sparing Xue Kun and his gang’s lives, he had let the tiger return to the mountain, causing the Bai sisters to suffer disaster.
