If this were only Ko Bei acting alone, perhaps he would still hesitate to ask Li Mingbo for help. But now Fang Yuan was involved. This business was Ko Bei's own undertaking, and he didn't want anyone to get hurt or face mortal danger because of it.

Thus, Ko Bei’s actions were deeply considerate of Fang Yuan’s safety.

Although Pei Xi was reluctant to leave, the task Ko Bei assigned her was of great importance. After checking the address on the business card, she realized it wasn’t far; if there was no traffic, she could reach it by car in half an hour.

"Alright, I'll hurry there and back. If you run into trouble, try to stall for time. If it becomes truly impossible, just mention my father's name. Around here, my father's name carries some weight." Pei Xi spoke these words never imagining Fang Yuan would have no chance to utter a single word before being knocked out.

"Okay. Take care on the road," Ko Bei said, then turned and left.

Pei Xi didn’t have time to examine the business card, which bore no phone number. She memorized the address and set her GPS to the location once she was in the car.

All the way, Pei Xi drove as fast as she could. Fortunately, the streets were empty at that hour.

Her foot pressed hard on the accelerator until she reached her destination, running several red lights along the way. Even if the traffic cameras caught her, she wasn’t worried—the car belonged neither to her nor to Fang Yuan.

Once there, Pei Xi understood just where she was. Having spent some time in this city, she had some knowledge of its major institutions. She now found herself at the city’s renowned helicopter leasing agency, which not only rented helicopters but also sold their own models developed in-house.

The security guards were strict. Seeing a young woman approach in the dead of night, they hardly paid her any attention. If it weren’t for Pei Xi’s striking looks, they would have chased her off right away.

But when Pei Xi told them whom she was looking for, their expressions changed.

"Do you know what kind of person you're asking for?" The guards, long accustomed to their job, often encountered people attempting entry under various pretexts. When Pei Xi said she wanted to see their chairman, they grew wary.

Coming to find the chairman at this hour and at this place—despite their outward respect, they harbored suspicions about Pei Xi.

"I don’t know what he does. A friend asked me to come here and give him this business card, saying Li Mingbo would know what to do." Pei Xi understood how troublesome guards could be, but after spending so much time with Ko Bei in the seawater earlier, her wallet was long gone.

"How about this? Call the person you’re looking for and have them send someone to fetch you," the guards replied, making it clear they had no intention of letting Pei Xi in.

Already anxious, Pei Xi was further delayed by their questions. Hearing their suggestion, she saw no point in further explanation.

She got back in the car, switched on the headlights, and started the engine. The roar of the engine alerted the guards to what she intended.

At first, the guards stood firm, scoffing at the idea that anyone could force their way in, let alone drive straight through them.

These men weren’t weak; they had prepared to form a human barrier. But when Pei Xi accelerated straight toward them, their instincts betrayed their loyalty to their job, and they all leaped aside with surprising agility. Witnessing those nimble jumps from men so portly was astonishing.

Pei Xi’s car crashed right into the barrier, the roof sustaining serious damage, but she couldn’t worry about that now. She drove directly toward the most luxurious-looking office building.

The receptionist saw a visitor enter, yet displayed little surprise. She had heard the crash outside but hadn’t connected it to the refined, elegant young woman before her.

"Hello, I’m here to see Li Mingbo. I have something urgent to tell him. If you mention the name on this card, he will see me," Pei Xi said, learning from prior experience and announcing her purpose and the person she was seeking right away.

The receptionist was quick to read people; she saw Pei Xi's urgency, glanced at the card, and dialed a number. It was not the chairman’s direct line; even with a hundred times the courage, she would not dare call him at this hour. Instead, she rang the chairman’s assistant. As long as the assistant agreed, it was as good as having the chairman’s permission. If not, she could absolve herself of any responsibility—she had already done her duty.

After the receptionist relayed the name on the card to the assistant, the assistant immediately instructed her to bring Pei Xi to the chairman’s office upstairs.

The receptionist realized Pei Xi must have significant connections and led her, smiling, up to the top floor.

The assistant, always on call twenty-four hours a day, was reviewing documents when he received the receptionist’s call. By the time Pei Xi arrived, he was just reaching the office.

"Hello, this is urgent—it concerns lives. Please, could you notify your chairman?" Pei Xi had already learned from the receptionist that Li Mingbo was the chairman here.

She knew it was impolite to disturb him at such an hour, but the matter was pressing, and her concern outweighed etiquette.

"The chairman will be here soon. Please wait a moment," the male assistant replied. He appeared to be in his thirties, with prominent dark circles under his eyes from constantly lacking rest.

No sooner had the assistant finished speaking than Li Mingbo arrived. Seeing Pei Xi instead of Ko Bei, he showed clear surprise.

"Hello, my name is Pei Xi. Ko Bei sent me," she hastily introduced herself and briefly explained Ko Bei’s predicament. Li Mingbo was a man of action.

Hearing Pei Xi’s account, he immediately ordered his assistant to prepare his personal helicopter and summoned his specially trained team, the Falcons.

The Falcons were a group of individuals trained for special tasks, forming a team under Li Mingbo’s direct command. Most company staff never interacted with them.
