Chapter Thirty-Two: Departure
“Did you send Ye Yuer away because you had something to say?” Zhao Ling’er helped Zhao Yuan to his feet, her brows furrowing as she questioned the figure who was not in control.
“Let’s leave,” Zhao Yuan said quietly, steadying his breath. “After all, this all started because of us. If we go, we won’t cause them any more trouble.”
“Alright, but we should at least inform the old master. You know his temperament—if we left without a word, he wouldn’t let us off easily.” In this brief encounter, Zhao Ling’er had come to understand the old master’s disposition.
Just as she said, if they left without a word, the old master would likely chase them to the ends of the earth.
Ouyang Chao watched helplessly as the five elite agents from the National Cybersecurity Bureau gradually uncovered his master’s ID. He closed his eyes, silently praying that his master could escape unscathed.
If their opponents didn’t head directly for the hiding place and instead came for their sniper position, there would be no choice but to fight—take down these enemies, then find a way to negotiate with the military without getting pinned down. There was still hope of escape.
Clad in a phoenix robe, crowned with a phoenix headdress, her features delicate as if painted, poised and graceful, resplendent and dignified, she exuded elegance in every gesture.
Watching as Lady Ye’s palms sliced through the air with force, Qin Yan dared not be careless. He drew upon his inner strength and performed the Tianshan Plum Technique, neutralizing each of her attacks.
Caesar had never lost his temper in public before; he always appeared composed. But this time, his anger was unmistakable. His reprimand of the political officer echoed from the command tent, and the soldiers stationed nearby fell silent in fear.
Yi Xin considered for a moment. “Very well, tomorrow your third uncle will take you to register at Columbia University.” Yi Haoran was only sixteen—losing a year didn’t matter much.
Once again, Sirius had no doubts—the game would end within five years. He had to make the most of every moment.
All they had left was a single 120mm mortar. It was expected to hold the enemy off for another day, which meant only eight days remained.
“Does everyone actually follow the rules?” Marius found it remarkable. Having served seven terms as consul, he knew that for Roman citizens to obey, there were only two ways: either through laws, or through the immense authority of those who set the rules.
Chiba answered Chiba Jue silently in his heart, then glanced at the others before lowering his eyes.
Shui Yiren swiftly exchanged his look of disdain for a feigned scorn, his handsome face taut, yet his eyes sparkled as they wandered over the four young women—truly a lascivious hypocrite, perfectly fitting his current persona.
The black-haired boy leaned casually against his seat, eyelids lowered, a Bluetooth earpiece in his ear, never once lifting his gaze.
In Dazhashui Village, the main clan was the Shui family, but many other surnames lived there too. So, a rule was set: three rings of the bronze bell signaled an important village affair; three quick and two slow meant a major clan event.
Rong Xi’s refined brows betrayed no emotion. Hearing Ling Mo’s shout, she kicked him hard without hesitation.
The sky was growing dark, and the area was sparsely populated with students—no one noticed the boy hurrying by.
Shen Mubai clutched a steaming cup of black tea, growing wary. Was the princess here to provoke her?
After this conversation, Shen Mubai lost the desire to visit the living room and instead returned to her room to lie down.
Back then, the entire valley had burst into laughter at her expense, leaving her mortified as she watched the other girl grin from ear to ear.
Lately, Rong Xi had been ill at ease, her heart often uneasy—she couldn’t stop thinking about Xue Xinqi.
And as the sacred artifact was destroyed, a terrifying wave of energy instantly erupted—Gao Ang could sense that it was the same force that ran through the city beneath his feet.
Yet Yi Feishi sat on the edge of the bed, unmoving even after saying he’d bathe, silently waiting after his reply.
The five-colored disk did not simply contain colored fluids; each color clearly represented one of the Five Elements. These elemental forces interacted within the disk, creating a subtle equilibrium—once that balance was broken, an explosion was inevitable.
