Chapter 103: Bilibili
Chapter 103 Bilibili
In the black and yellow Spirit Ball, thick black mist poured out endlessly, while magnificent golden light rose like dawn from the depths of darkness. As if confronted by fierce sunlight, the black mist slowly dissipated in the air beneath the golden glow. A slender tail swayed gently behind it, sending ripples through the air like water waves, while a crimson gemstone on its forehead flashed with bright light, as if brewing some secret. The conical face held a dazed expression in its black-and-white eyes.
Lu Yun was thoroughly confused right now. He had been lent out from the organization's headquarters several days earlier, and after meeting the client, he had remained trapped inside the Spirit Ball. Midway through, he had tried to scout the surroundings through the transparent shell, but he had no idea where the client had hidden him. Every time he peered outside, the view was pitch black. Of course, Lu Yun was content to be idle. Wasn't it nice to be a salted fish?
Rather than fighting tooth and nail in missions, he could lie in the Spirit Ball and sleep lazily, then wake up to claim his task rewards. The plan sounded wonderful, yet reality proved otherwise. The Lu Yun who had been dozing in darkness was suddenly jolted awake by the noise and light from the outside world. In a hasty assessment, he decided to burst out of the Spirit Ball on his own.
"It looks like things aren't going well..." Lu Yun frowned, staring at the scorched client who was barely recognizable, muttering to himself. He released a faint thread of static electricity to brush against the opponent's body. No response. This battered, burly man was slumped limply on the ground, his dull pupils filled with a lost, dejected look.
"Hey hey," Lu Yun said. "At least you're supposed to be a cadre. How were you taken down so easily?" He felt a bit troubled. After all, he was the client's agent, and any mishap might lower his task evaluation, cutting his rewards.
"Electric Dragon? Why come out now? Want to die with your master?" A rough, duck-like voice laced with sharp mockery rang from behind. Lu Yun's eyebrows lifted, and he turned to see Sos tilting his head and smirking.
Without a word, Lu Yun's pitch-black eyes held no emotion as he coldly fixed his gaze on Sos. Sos suddenly felt a chill crawl up from his back to his neck, sending shivers down his spine. As if mocked by an unseen observer, a surge of shame and fury rose in his narrow eyes.
"You bastard!" the voice snarled. "Poison Skeleton Frog, what are you standing there for? Attack!" Sos bellowed, his voice cracking.
Yet the Poison Skeleton Frog in front stood frozen, unmoving, as if deaf to its master's commands. Its blue-orange body trembled faintly, as though stricken by illness. If Sos had circled to the front, he would have seen that the creature no longer wore its playful grin. Instead, it looked terrified, as if facing a monster. Sweat beaded on its forehead, lips quivered, and its large orange eyes bulged, pupils shrinking.
"Poison Skeleton Frog, what are you doing?" the master's furious shouts echoed from behind, but the creature dared not move. Thanks to its [Danger Perception] trait, it sensed unprecedented peril on the Electric Dragon's form. The towering body resembled a humanoid planet, its magnetic field rotating with mechanical regularity nearby. Vast ocean-like currents surged within, and even the slightest leakage nearly suffocated it. Deeper still, an aura of pride and nobility flowed at the core, awakening primal fear from the Poison Skeleton Frog's genetic depths—the terror of apex predators.
"Oh?" Lu Yun blinked, regarding the motionless creature with an intrigued expression. His lazy gaze swept over the sharp red claws, carrying the faint, pungent scent of blood as if soaked with countless creatures' lives. "What a waste. Your perception is sharp, but you picked a terrible master." He shook his head slightly and sighed. "Hope you have better luck in your next life."
Just as he moved to strike, Lu Yun paused, as if recalling something amusing. His eyes brightened. Turning to the slumped Max, he extended his yellow arm. A weak magnetic field flared, and an invisible hand seemed to appear in the air, deftly grasping and twisting Max's collar. A metal button glowing with white light popped free. Lu Yun controlled the field to catch the button in his palm, then tossed it upward. It spun in the air, caught by gravity, and fell back, vibrating gently.
"Mm," he nodded. "Pure metal." Lu Yun smiled. Tossing it again, the button spun upward, silver-white light flashing. But this time it refused to drop. The invisible magnetic field had sealed it, defying gravity so it hovered strangely in midair. Excitement sparked in Lu Yun's eyes as he prepared to test the move he had conceived long ago during his Mili Sheep days—yet had never used amid his endless training and missions. He had only remembered it in his drowsy state.
The concept drew from an anime from his past life: a second-year junior high girl dubbed the "strongest electrokineticist."
Suddenly the silver button spun wildly on its own, friction with the air turning its surface a faint reddish hue. Thin white smoke trailed behind in a spiraling wake. Buzz—
The magnetic field beside Lu Yun shook violently. Compressed, condensed, and stacked under his precise control, the massive electromagnetic force became the spiral rifling of a gun barrel. At its center, the silver button glowed faintly red, spinning faster as it emitted a low hum. The bullet was ready, waiting only for the trigger's final pull. A malicious smile curved Lu Yun's lips as he raised his right hand toward the Poison Skeleton Frog and whispered in a voice no one else could hear, "Super Electromagnetic Cannon!"
