Crackling! Powerful currents surged wildly over Lu Yun’s injured body.
“Aaaargh!”
Intense pain flared from every part of his being. The wool he usually used to store electricity had been scorched by the intense flames of the Roast Pig, leaving nowhere for the vast energy to remain; it overflowed, raging outward.
Within a five-meter radius of Lu Yun, torrents of electricity exploded, forming a berserk domain of thunder and lightning. The Roast Pig, cowed by the power, lingered warily at the edge, not daring to approach.
Lu Yun himself was an Electric-type Pokémon. To him, these rampant currents felt almost familiar and comforting.
“What do I do?”
“Think, fast!”
“I’ll die!”
Struggling, Lu Yun forced himself upright. The electricity swirling around him would not last forever; he knew the charge from his wool would soon be spent. When that happened, his death would follow.
The agony of death from his previous life flooded his mind. Forcing himself to calm down, Lu Yun began to strategize. Thoughts flickered rapidly through his mind. In that critical moment, Lu Yun seemed to reach a decision.

The Roast Pig was shrouded in blazing red flames, its Blaze ability making it fiercely aggressive as its health waned. Its crimson eyes stared manically at the figure at the heart of the storm, madness virtually seething from its gaze.
Suddenly, the wild thunder began to gather inward, contracting slowly.
“Is it ending?” Roast Pig knew a Mareep could not sustain such a powerful move for long; it believed this was just a final act of defiance.
A cold glint flashed in its heart as it gathered even more searing energy, the flames around it burning hotter and brighter, preparing for a devastating Flame Charge.
But contrary to Roast Pig’s expectations, while the lightning grew more contained, the energy within did not diminish; if anything, it intensified. The thunder, once scattered, gathered toward the center, converging on the lone figure.
The electricity was compressed and condensed to a terrifying degree, wailing as though containing a monstrous force.
Gradually, all the electricity in the arena was drawn to Mareep’s body. A shrill, piercing sound echoed, like a thousand chattering birds. The wild current was pressed tightly against Mareep, whose charred wool had vanished, replaced by a golden, liquid-like stream of electricity—plasma.
The golden plasma flowed gently, belying the violent power within, wrapping Mareep’s body like armor forged from liquid gold. Powerful energy flooded every cell of Lu Yun’s body, wringing out every last bit of potential.
Lu Yun slowly opened his eyes, feeling explosive strength surge through him.
“It actually… worked!”
The move he had only dreamed of was realized against all odds, fueled by his desperate resolve.

In a darkened room, Case stared in shock, having forgotten to sit, his eyes riveted to the golden figure on the screen.

It rushed straight at its foe.

A faint electric hum lingered in the air, but Lu Yun had already vanished. Roast Pig’s attack missed entirely. It halted, whipping its head about, searching for its enemy.
“Over here!”
A harsh electric screech announced Mareep’s sudden appearance at Roast Pig’s side, as if teleporting. The plasma surrounding its horns swelled and unleashed a torrent of wild electricity—a golden bolt that struck Roast Pig’s flank with furious force.
The explosive impact sent Roast Pig hurtling through the air. Still stunned, it barely registered as the golden figure appeared above it once more.
“Hidden Power!”
The once elegant, deep-blue aura was now tinged with the wildness of Lu Yun’s electric surge, sweeping through the air like a crescent moon.
Buzz!
A tremendous impact drove Roast Pig downward.
Crash!
The ground cracked as the solid floor caved, leaving a small crater. Inside, battered and scarred, Roast Pig struggled, while the relentless current continued to torment it.
Lu Yun landed lightly, the field-clearing surge of his aura scattering the dust. His gaze fell on the wounded Roast Pig below, flashing with a hint of ruthlessness.
“This will be the final strike…”
He whispered inwardly, as the last of his energy gathered before him.
Crackle… The compressed plasma became a raging current, shining like a sun made of lightning.
With every last spark wrung from his body, Lu Yun aimed the “sun” squarely at Roast Pig.
“Thunder Shock!”
It was as if the world had gone silent—a single bolt of light blasted through the chamber.
All the power Lu Yun could muster poured into the Thunder Shock, striking down like a thunderbolt from the heavens.
Boom!
Destruction. Finality.

Who knew how much time had passed before Lu Yun’s consciousness stirred. He felt the thick, warm embrace of liquid around him. Slowly opening his eyes, he discovered himself inside a transparent chamber filled with green fluid. His body, once covered in wounds, was restored—perhaps even stronger than before.
All around, humans in immaculate white coats and masks moved about, busy at their work.
“Director! Subject DH3962 is awake!”
“Notify Case. He brought it in, after all.”
“Yes, sir!”
Before Lu Yun could make sense of his situation, he felt a pull from beneath his feet. The liquid around him was drained away, receding steadily.
With a hiss, white vapor filled the chamber as the transparent walls split apart.
Case stood before the nutrient tank, watching the dazed Mareep. He couldn’t help but smirk, recalling its astonishing performance not long ago and marveling at its innate talent.
Since Case had deliberately leaked the battle footage, this Mareep had stirred up no small commotion within the organization; even several high-ranking figures had come to him for details.
