Chapter 151: Yuan Ye Loses His Temper
The next day, Wang Yue left, and Lin Chuan took his son and left as well.
The two of them departed from their home in Kyoto together, yet boarded trains headed in opposite directions.
In the afternoon.
As Lin Chuan emerged from the station, he spotted a silver BMW parked by the roadside. It was Yuan Ye’s car, but the driver was an unfamiliar man.
"Hello, Chairman. I’m an employee here at the television station. My name is Hu Zhipeng. Director Yuan is currently tied up in a very important meeting and couldn't get away, so he sent me to pick you up in his car," the man said warmly.
"A meeting? With the New Year just around the corner, what important meetings could there possibly be? Oh, could it be about arranging the broadcast schedule for the Spring Festival?" Lin Chuan got into the car with his son and asked with a puzzled expression.
"Uh... not quite," Hu Zhipeng hesitated. Figuring that Lin Chuan wasn't an outsider, he didn't hide the truth. "Just recently, our station suddenly secured a massive sponsorship. The Station Director has been consumed by this matter lately, but the planning proposal keeps getting rejected, and Director Yuan seems furious..."
Seemed furious? That was putting it mildly. Yuan Ye’s current state was far beyond merely angry—he was practically throwing a fit of rage.
Ever since he negotiated that one-hundred-million-dollar sponsorship, he hadn't had a single moment of leisure. It was rather unusual. Despite being the head of the television station, Yuan Ye was usually quite casual about his work and very amiable toward his subordinates. As for losing his temper... that practically never happened.
Yet this time was different. The sponsor wasn't looking to back any of the station's existing programs; instead, they hoped that the Quancheng Television Station could create an entirely new children's program.
After all, the sponsor dealt in children's apparel, so that in itself wasn't particularly strange.
However, Yuan Ye never imagined it would be this difficult. Weren't they just children's programs? How hard could it be? A full week had passed, and there wasn't even a rough draft of a proposal.
Well, not that there was nothing at all. Ever since the planning department received the assignment, they hadn't let up for a second. Knowing the immense importance of the program, everyone in the department was working overtime, desperately hoping to produce a proposal that would satisfy both Director Yuan and the investors.
Yet, crafting this proposal proved far more formidable than imagined. Looking across all television stations nationwide, children's programs amounted to just a handful. Innovation? In the span of just one miserable week? You had to be kidding.
Consequently, Yuan Ye erupted. From morning till now, he had lost count of how many times he had chewed out the planning department. As for the members of that department, every single one of them was currently too terrified to even breathe audibly.
With the New Year fast approaching, having such a disaster land on their plates was genuinely disheartening.

Having heard the background of the situation, Lin Chuan chuckled. "Yuan Ye, that rascal, actually has moments where he loses his temper. Such a rare spectacle—I simply must witness it with my own eyes."
Yuan Ye... a rascal? Hu Zhipeng, currently driving the vehicle, gave a quiet twitch of his tongue upon hearing Lin Chuan address the Station Director thus. Aside from the retired former director, probably no one else dared to use such a moniker for him, save for this celebrity chairman of theirs.
"Chairman, perhaps you shouldn't go down there just yet. The station is in complete chaos right now. Why don't I drop you off at the Director's residence first, and you can visit the station another day?" Hu Zhipeng suggested.
"It's fine. It's precisely because it's chaotic that I want to have a look. How about this: drop me off at the television station first, and then take Yangyang back," Lin Chuan said nonchalantly.
Fine. You're the chairman. You aren't afraid of trouble and seem to thrive on chaos; since you insist on going, I have no choice but to obey.
Hu Zhipeng nodded, steering the car at the upcoming intersection and speeding directly toward Quancheng Television Station.

Meanwhile, in the conference room at Quancheng Television Station.
There weren't many people in the room—barely a dozen counting Yuan Ye—yet none of their expressions looked favorable, carrying a heavy, oppressive gloom.
Yuan Ye, in particular, clearly looked as though he had just finished raging; he sat slumped in his seat, still breathing heavily and audibly.
"D-Director Yuan, this proposal really is the absolute limit. If you're demanding true innovation, we..." a middle-aged man in his forties said cautiously.
"The limit? You hand me this piece of crap program and tell me it's your limit? And when the hell did I demand innovation? I simply told you to build upon the existing foundation and inject some fresh elements, do you understand?" Yuan Ye slammed his hand onto the table, letting out a curse.
Instantly, the people seated before him all shrank their necks in terror, their complexions turning a shade paler.
After a long pause, a bespectacled woman spoke up with a trembling voice. "S-Station Director, actually, we could also incorporate some family dynamics into this children's talent show by organizing the competition around family collaboration... Not only would this boost the children's enthusiasm, but it would also foster interaction between parents and their kids..."
Once the woman finished speaking, the conference room fell silent once more. It was an eerie kind of silence, one that made the spine of everyone present tingle with dread.
As for Yuan Ye, he simply fixed a cold, hard glare upon the woman who had just spoken, maintaining it for a full minute or more. Throughout that agonizing span, the woman's face shifted through multiple hues—from ashen to flushed, from flushed to greenish, before finally settling back into a stark, deathly pallor.
"Heh, so this is your fresh element? This is the planning proposal you've given me? A children's talent show? Family collaboration? Parent-child interaction?" Yuan Ye sneered, his voice icy.
Hastily, the crowd nodded in unison, finally squeezing out the faintest, forced smiles onto their faces. Could it be that this proposal had finally satisfied the Director? Could it pass muster?
Thank heavens, this nightmare might finally be coming to an end.
Yet, before they could bask in their relief for even a few seconds, a deafening slap of a hand against wood shattered the silence, echoing through the entire conference room like a thunderclap.
A few of the more timid individuals nearly jumped out of their skins, completely caught off guard.
At that moment, Yuan Ye's dark expression swept slowly across each of their faces as he spoke. "Do you all take me for a three-year-old child, trying to play me for a fool? I was already watching programs like this when I was little, and now you trot it out and tell me it's innovative?"
"D-Director Yuan, please don't get excited. We actually have another set of proposals, it's just that..." The same middle-aged man stood up from his chair, offering a distressed explanation with an unsightly expression.
However, before he could finish his sentence, a knock sounded at the heavy doors of the conference room.
Everyone instinctively turned their gaze toward the entrance. In a foul mood, Yuan Ye snapped out a "Come in!" without even bothering to turn his head, his anger still raging.
As the door swung open, a man's cheerful voice rang out: "My, quite lively in here! I could hear the racket all the way down the hall, almost as if you were turning this place upside down. What’s this, planning to blow up the building?"
Hearing this, everyone wore looks of utter astonishment, thinking to themselves: Who on earth has the audacity to speak like that at a time like this? Are you out of your mind and courting death?
Yet, when they actually laid eyes upon the newcomer, they collectively swallowed those thoughts back down into their stomachs, rose hastily to their feet with expressions of profound respect, and chimed in, "Chairman, you're here!"
