When Yang Ze and Lin Hui met again, Yang Ze once more saw that familiar smile on Lin Hui’s face, along with the expression that seemed to say he had already anticipated everything. That expression made Yang Ze deeply uncomfortable.
Yang Ze cleared his throat twice and said, “Senior Brother Lin Hui, stop staring. What is there to look at? I’m just an ordinary man.”
“An ordinary man is certainly nothing special to look at, but there is something much more interesting about you. Forget it, forget it—I won’t tease you anymore. Tell me, how many contribution points do you want to borrow this time?” Lin Hui said with a sinister smile.
Yang Ze’s expression turned solemn. Lin Hui had indeed guessed everything, but he still said, “Senior Brother, are you really so certain that I came to borrow contribution points?”
“Other than borrowing contribution points, what else could you possibly want from me? Besides, being able to cultivate to the ninth stage of True Essence Qi in such a short time should already be your limit. If you want to further increase your combat strength, the only path left is martial arts. You don’t have enough contribution points of your own, so coming to me is only natural.” Lin Hui spoke slowly.
“Since Senior Brother has already guessed it, I won’t waste any more words. I need fifty contribution points. I hope Senior Brother can lend them to me this time!” Yang Ze said, cupping his fists.
“Fifty contribution points will be enough? Junior Brother Yang Ze, don’t forget that the Martial Arts Tournament is about to begin. What this tournament requires is not merely formidable strength. No matter how powerful someone is, they may still be injured during the competition.
“And the tournament schedule is extremely tight. If you do not prepare some healing pills, you simply will not have enough time to recover from your injuries. Healing pills do not come for free, either—they all require contribution points. If you spend every contribution point on exchanging for martial arts, what will you use to prepare those healing pills?”
The moment Lin Hui said this, Yang Ze was jolted awake. Indeed, he had overlooked this matter all along. Moreover, all the medicinal materials he had prepared were already exhausted. If he were injured later, relying solely on his own recovery would make it impossible to heal in time during the Martial Arts Tournament.
Fortunately, Lin Hui had reminded him. Otherwise, by the time he realized the problem, it would have been too late for regret.
“Then I ask Senior Brother to advise me. Exactly how many contribution points would be appropriate?” Yang Ze asked directly.
“I’ll give you one hundred and fifty contribution points. Although that won’t be enough to exchange for the finest healing pills, it will be more than sufficient for some ordinary ones.”
Judging from Lin Hui’s tone, Yang Ze realized that Lin Hui clearly had enough contribution points to exchange for better healing pills. He simply did not wish to spend that many.
Even so, borrowing one hundred and fifty contribution points all at once made Yang Ze feel rather uncomfortable. He had only just managed to repay one hundred contribution points, yet after such a short time, he had already incurred an even greater debt.
Seeing Yang Ze’s expression, Lin Hui chuckled. “Junior Brother Yang Ze, you don’t need to look so troubled. The fact that I’m not charging you interest is already generous enough. If it were someone else, I would certainly have taken the opportunity to bleed him dry.”
Yang Ze shook his head and said nothing more. In his eyes, Lin Hui was truly mysterious. Once he had more resources at hand, he absolutely did not want to borrow contribution points from Lin Hui again.
The two of them went up to Qingyang Hall and completed the transaction. The number of contribution points recorded on Yang Ze’s identity token once again rose to two hundred.
“The transaction is complete. Keep working hard, Junior Brother Yang Ze. I also have to prepare for the Martial Arts Tournament. We’ll meet again when the tournament begins.”
Amid his laughter, Lin Hui vanished from before Yang Ze once more.
Even after Lin Hui had left, Yang Ze remained deeply wary of him. Contribution points were scarce for every nominal disciple, yet Lin Hui seemed to possess an inexhaustible supply, as though he could never use them all.

Moreover, although this man’s cultivation was not particularly high among the nominal disciples, he moved freely among all sides and had never once encountered an accident.
Despite his wariness, Yang Ze was not foolish enough to investigate Lin Hui. He had not forgotten what his most important task was at present, and immediately hurried toward the Scripture Repository Hall.
This was Yang Ze’s first visit to the Scripture Repository Hall that month. Since he had not yet used his monthly free opportunity, he did not need to pay the hundred contribution points.
After entering the Scripture Repository Hall, Yang Ze discovered that there were fewer disciples inside than during his previous visits.
It seemed that the closer the Martial Arts Tournament drew, the fewer people came here to choose new martial arts. After all, with so little time remaining, not many people had the ability to master a new martial art. Not everyone possessed a cheat like he did.
On the second floor, Yang Ze walked toward the bookshelves containing martial arts and began browsing. To be honest, he had not really decided what kind of martial art he wanted this time.
But if he were to choose again, he would still seek a martial art for his hands. Close-quarters combat could not be neglected. If he could defeat others with his bare hands, there would be no need to use weapons.
Having made up his mind, Yang Ze began wandering around the rows of manuals devoted to hand techniques. After searching for nearly half an hour, he finally found a martial art that was reasonably satisfactory.
He took the small manual from the shelf. Five words were written on its cover:
Gale Bone-Breaking Hand.
This martial art was one Yang Ze had selected after examining several hundred manuals. Most of the martial arts here had grand, imposing names but mediocre power. Gale Bone-Breaking Hand was one of the few that could truly meet Yang Ze’s standards.
Gale Bone-Breaking Hand relied primarily on swift attacks to seize an opponent, after which the user struck directly, shattering the bones in the enemy’s body. It was a martial art with tremendous killing potential.
So long as he did not encounter an enemy whose strength surpassed his own by too great a margin, this martial art could be highly effective. However, it had one requirement for cultivation: the practitioner needed sufficient cultivation. Otherwise, when exchanging blows with an enemy, the technique could be broken, causing the True Essence Qi in both hands to rebound into the body and damage the meridians.
The moment Yang Ze saw it, he felt that he could cultivate this martial art. His True Essence Qi was considerably stronger than that of martial artists at the same level, making it particularly suitable for him.
Holding the manual of Gale Bone-Breaking Hand, he did not hurry to make a copy. Instead, he continued browsing.
When he reached the section devoted to saber techniques, he walked toward the innermost row of bookshelves.
Perhaps because this row stood in the most remote corner, the martial arts placed there were all old and worn manuals. Not a single person stood in front of the entire shelf.
Seeing the many martial arts covered in dust, Yang Ze did not leave at once. Instead, he began scanning them carefully.
As his gaze swept rapidly across the shelf, Yang Ze suddenly noticed that among a pile of stacked booklets, there lay a bamboo slip.
The bamboo slip immediately caught his attention. He reached out and took it down. After unfastening it, Yang Ze discovered that the writing recorded upon it had become blurred. The engraved characters were so indistinct that it was impossible to tell what they said.

Somewhat disappointed, Yang Ze was about to return the bamboo slip when, all of a sudden, a flash of white light flickered across it.
The white light vanished as soon as it appeared, but Yang Ze was certain that he had not imagined it.
He immediately lowered the hand he had raised. His gaze locked onto the bamboo slip, and his cold, stern eyes refused to move away.
Time passed slowly. One breath, two breaths, three breaths… A hundred breaths went by, yet the bamboo slip in his hand showed no further sign of anything unusual.
Even so, Yang Ze still showed no intention of letting go. Instead, blood vessels began to appear in his eyes under the strain of his intense gaze, making him look frightening.
Just as Yang Ze began to feel a stabbing pain in his eyes, something suddenly flashed before him. He saw white light seeping out from between the gaps in the bamboo slip.
The light was extremely faint, but the instant it appeared, it completely occupied Yang Ze’s vision. At that moment, nothing remained in his sight except an expanse of pure white.
Everything happened in an instant. The moment the white light appeared, it surged entirely into Yang Ze’s eyes. In the next moment, the bamboo slip in his hand returned to its original state and fell to the ground.
Yang Ze stood frozen in place, as though he had lost his soul. He did not even notice that the object in his hand had fallen.
At the instant the white light emerged, Zhang Chengxuan, who was meditating cross-legged beneath the Scripture Repository Hall, suddenly opened his eyes. A sharp glint flashed within them.
In the next instant, a powerful aura burst from Zhang Chengxuan’s body. In the blink of an eye, the entire Scripture Repository Hall was enveloped by it.
When that aura descended upon the hall, every disciple inside shuddered and collapsed to the ground, unable to move. Their faces were filled with terror, and none of them knew what had happened.
The aura lasted for more than ten breaths before finally dissipating. Only then did the disciples rise to their feet. None of them dared remain in the Scripture Repository Hall. They abandoned the martial arts in their hands and hurried outside.
Yang Ze, however, remained standing where he was. From beginning to end, he was completely unaffected by the aura. An inexplicable ripple appeared across the surface of his body, and even Zhang Chengxuan’s formidable pressure could not suppress him.
Now that he had escaped the aura’s influence, Yang Ze’s eyes had already turned completely white. A tremendous upheaval was taking place within his mind. His consciousness was trembling, and his soul was filled with astonishment.
