Chapter 211: Li Dawa
As the black mist appeared, the two who had been fighting instinctively ceased their struggle. At the same time, overwhelmed by countless distractions in his mind, Zhou Qing moved and floated over to Ling Ji’s side, reaching out and tightly embracing her.
Ling Ji, her cheeks already flushed, let out a soft, pleased hum and nestled into Zhou Qing’s arms like a delicate bird seeking shelter. Because of the underwater black mist, the two combatants who had just been locked in a battle of spells seemed like entirely different people. At this moment, they appeared like a young couple, holding each other closely.
Within the depths of the sea and the enveloping black mist, they shared a dream only spouses or lovers could experience.
The dream felt incredibly real: he had her, she yielded to him, his passion was wild, hers tender.
In this vivid dream, after many fierce battles, the two ultimately...
Dreams always end with awakening. When the black mist beneath the sea dispersed, Ling Ji awoke, only to find herself shamefully clutching Zhou Qing tightly.
There was no barrier between them—they were simply embracing. Around them, fragments of torn red and white clothing floated in the water, remnants of their earlier frenzy.
Seeing this scene, Ling Ji’s face instantly flushed crimson. As she recalled what had just happened, she stepped aside, retrieved her treasure pouch from the seabed, and pulled out a set of clothes to change into.
While Ling Ji changed, Zhou Qing also awakened. Seeing Ling Ji’s actions and her glance toward him, he too began to remember what had transpired.
He rose, fetched his treasure pouch from the seabed, and donned a red robe. Then, turning toward Ling Ji, he saw her summon a fierce energy slash toward him with a wave of her hand.
“Shameless!” Ling Ji scolded angrily as she unleashed the energy.
Zhou Qing said nothing in reply, nor did he dodge the incoming attack.
Though both knew this was an accident caused by the black mist—likely the fabled desire sac within the dragon’s belly—and that during their fight the day before, they had broken it, resulting in such consequences.
The energy struck Zhou Qing without causing the slightest harm or even pain, which showed Ling Ji had held back considerably.
“Why didn’t you dodge?” Ling Ji asked curiously, noticing his lack of avoidance.
Zhou Qing ignored her question. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions, unable to fathom that he had actually engaged in an intimate encounter with this妖女—a demoness.
Reflecting on it, they had only just met. He did not know how to come to terms with such a relationship.
The two stared at each other for a few moments before Zhou Qing slapped his treasure pouch at his waist, drawing out the sword Wuqing. With a flash, he appeared beside the dragon’s corpse.
Following the slit he had made earlier, Zhou Qing continued slicing upward. Soon, inside the black dragon’s belly, he discovered a shining golden orb the size of a fist.
Having previously obtained a dragon pill, Zhou Qing recognized this golden orb as a dragon pearl.
Before their intimate encounter, they had fought fiercely over this dragon pearl, but now Ling Ji simply watched quietly as Zhou Qing held it, making no move.
Examining the fist-sized golden pill, Zhou Qing flicked it toward Ling Ji.
“What do you mean by this?” Ling Ji caught the dragon pearl, puzzled.
“You wanted this dragon pearl, didn’t you? Here, it’s yours,” Zhou Qing replied, sheathing Wuqing and hesitating before adding, “What happened between us…”
“There’s nothing between us. It’s all over now. You’re human; I’m a demon. There can be no relationship between us. Just forget it,” Ling Ji interrupted firmly.
“Very well, so be it,” Zhou Qing agreed with a nod and said no more. With a swift movement, he floated toward the shore.
They had come to the sea to retrieve the dragon pearl from the black dragon. Now that he had it, there was no reason to linger.
Ling Ji gathered the dragon pearl into her treasure pouch and silently followed Zhou Qing to land.
After reaching shore, Zhou Qing did not linger by the shore but disappeared swiftly into the forest, leaving no trace.
Ling Ji stood on the beach, gazing long at the direction Zhou Qing had vanished before sighing softly and turning toward the wilderness.
Emerging from the sea, Zhou Qing wandered through the forest for a half day before arriving at a small county town.
Passing through the town, he noticed a brothel, where he saw pleasure seekers coming and going.
They seemed no different from ordinary people, walking casually along the street.
“Everything was just an accident. I should learn from these pleasure seekers—finish matters and walk away,” Zhou Qing mused quietly, his attitude toward what had happened between him and Ling Ji softening. Then, he strode purposefully toward the outskirts of the county.
Two days later, his figure appeared near Jinling County.
“More than ten years have passed in the blink of an eye. I wonder how Fei’er and her family are doing. Does anyone here still remember me?” Zhou Qing stood on a grassy hill outside the county, gazing thoughtfully at the town.
After all, he had lived here for several years. Returning after wandering for so long, he couldn’t help but feel like he was coming home.
After a moment’s pause, he folded his hands behind his back and walked along a dirt road into Jinling County.
On his way, he encountered a middle-aged woman working in a nearby field.
“Are you Daoist Li?” the woman called out.
Hearing this, Zhou Qing stopped.
“Daoist Li? Li Dawa?” This was the name he had used only in Jinling County. He hadn’t expected anyone to remember him after more than ten years.
No wonder—the reputation he built before leaving Jinling was well known throughout the county. Although more than a decade had passed, his appearance had changed little, and his striking red robe made him unmistakable.
The woman also recalled him because years ago, when a strange incident had occurred in her household, Zhou Qing had intervened to help. So she recognized him immediately.
“Yes, it’s me. I didn’t expect it’s been over ten years since I last came back to Jinling. I’m surprised you still remember me,” Zhou Qing said.
“How could I forget? Daoist Li, if not for you back then…”
