"Toot—"

A rough, blaring horn sounded from the speakers positioned in every corner of the coliseum. The deafening sound waves surged through the underground space, signaling the official start of Yellow Stone Town’s most anticipated beast battle.

Before a match, the Mist Beasts participating are typically starved for a day or two to ensure their ferocity is maximized during the fight. However, they are not starved so severely that it compromises their combat effectiveness.

Scar-Eye, with his massive, muscular frame, was in this state of hunger. His bloodthirsty, savage gaze was enough to make even seasoned Mist-Walkers—those who spent long periods wandering the Mist—shiver in their boots. It was hard to imagine what the petite Silver-Claw, currently facing him, must be feeling.

"Charge! Tear it apart!" the audience roared, their voices hoarse, interspersed with a barrage of the most vulgar insults. The spectators were desperate to witness the brutal, bloody slaughter between the beasts.

Scar-Eye did not disappoint. The overlord, who had already claimed the lives of countless opponents in the arena, opened his massive jaws, bared his long, sharp fangs, and let out a thunderous roar.

Without any testing of the waters, the feline’s immense explosive power was on full display. With a dash, he lunged straight at the silver figure, which looked frail in comparison.

But Silver-Claw displayed a level of composure rare for a Mist Beast. Even when facing a creature like Scar-Eye, dubbed a King of Mist Beasts, she remained unfazed. With a twist of her body, she pushed off the ground with all four paws, springing backward.

Missing his target, Scar-Eye roared in fury and whipped his front claws forward in a savage, shearing motion. Yet Silver-Claw’s agility proved superior; she twisted her body again to evade the attack, leaped onto Scar-Eye’s back to deliver a vicious bite, and then jumped away, quickly opening up the distance.

The intense exchange, lasting only a few breaths, ignited the audience’s passion. The deafening cheers and roars seemed as if they would tear the roof off the arena.

"This Silver-Claw is quite impressive," the Warm Guy remarked, rubbing his chin. "Have you noticed? Her movements don't look like those of a Mist Beast relying on instinct alone. Mist Beasts are notoriously violent and impulsive; they aren't capable of such precise maneuvers."

"Indeed," Qi Chen agreed, nodding. Even he could tell that Silver-Claw’s fighting style resembled that of a seasoned warrior, not a predatory beast driven by instinct. It was no wonder that, despite her less-than-stellar stats, she had become the most brilliant rising star of the coliseum over the past month, remaining undefeated.

"Still, Scar-Eye lives up to his reputation. The strength he’s shown is top-tier among Mist Beasts. Out in the Mist, I suspect even a fully armed special ops team would struggle to take him down without sustaining losses—unless they were in an armored vehicle."

As the two spoke, the battle in the coliseum entered its second round.

Scar-Eye, having suffered a deep, painful bite from Silver-Claw instead of landing any hits, grew increasingly agitated. With a swift turn, he began to gallop across the arena, his massive muscles rippling as he raised a paw and swiped directly at Silver-Claw’s head. Had it connected, it would have been a clean, fatal blow.

Yet, Silver-Claw once again drew gasps from the crowd. She dropped low to the ground, dodging the swipe while simultaneously launching a counterattack. She propelled herself diagonally upward, her slender snout wide open, and sank her needle-like fangs deep into Scar-Eye's neck.

Once the hit landed, she didn't linger to maul him like a typical Mist Beast; instead, she quickly released her grip and darted behind him.

Suddenly, the spectators who had bet on Scar-Eye began to scream.

"Fight! Don't just scurry around like a loach!"

"Fight head-on, you coward, Silver-Claw!"

Even though they knew the beasts couldn't understand human language, the audience, unable to control their emotions, continued to hurl abuse.

"Tsk tsk, it seems these people have a lot of money on the line," the Warm Guy chuckled, unfazed by the hostile glares he drew. He looked nonchalantly at Qi Chen. "What do you think?"

Qi Chen rubbed his forehead in silence, not particularly in the mood to talk to him. However, if he had to evaluate the winner, it was likely to be the underdog, Silver-Claw.

"ROAR!"

Scar-Eye’s bellow echoed through the arena. Crimson blood dripped from the wound on his neck. The pain and the scent of blood fueled his savagery, and he exploded with even greater speed than before.

To the audience, this sudden burst was nothing more than a blurred streak. Before they could even track his movement, Scar-Eye had tackled Silver-Claw to the ground.

A wave of hysterical joy erupted. Spectators jumped from their seats, their faces flushed with excitement, roaring, "Tear her apart, Scar-Eye! Rip that little mongrel to pieces!"

In the arena, Scar-Eye had his blood-red maw wide open. His single eye burned with extreme bloodlust, and his two front paws pressed down on Silver-Claw’s spine with monstrous force, pinning her down. In the next second, he lunged for her throat, his bite force more than enough to snap her neck instantly.

*Snap!*

Sharp fangs sank into flesh, but the entire arena fell into a deathly silence.

Scar-Eye was biting his own paw!

Not only that, he began to tear at it as if it weren't his own limb, or as if he were convinced he hadn't made a mistake. The shocking scene continued: Scar-Eye suddenly raised his other claw and struck his own face without mercy, leaving several deep, bloody gashes. The wounds were far more severe than those Silver-Claw had inflicted.

The audience, finally coming to their senses, grew agitated and surged toward the iron fences surrounding the arena. A few who had placed heavy bets couldn't help but spit and throw debris into the cage.

"What are you doing, you beast? I bet so much money on you!"

But no matter how loudly they shouted, it was in vain. Silver-Claw had already seized the opportunity to flip over, tackle Scar-Eye to the ground, and sink her teeth into his throat.

Meanwhile, Scar-Eye continued to strike at himself.

The outcome was decided. Only seconds later, Scar-Eye, the Mist Beast king who had boasted a perfect record, lay as a cold corpse.

Silver-Claw, the new king, did not feast on her prize. Instead, she held her head high, scanning the audience outside the cage with an arrogant air, before walking with elegant grace toward the open entrance and vanishing into the darkness.

"It seems our luck is quite good," the Warm Guy said, his expression suddenly turning serious.

Qi Chen nodded heavily, his gaze fixed on the pitch-black entrance.

Scar-Eye’s final, erratic behavior was identical to that of the Town Mayor and the others.

"It seems we need to find Silver-Claw’s master and have a word with them."
