Volume Two: The Demonic Game Chapter 65: The Spirit Soldier Hunts Demons
The shockwave released by the Guardian swept rapidly outward. On Lu Yi’s side, Yu Chan was the first to act; she tapped the ground lightly, vaulted upward, and stepped onto the silver wall of light, sprinting along its surface to circle around the Guardian.
Seeing this, Lu Yi immediately realized that Yu Chan intended to get behind the Guardian. He activated his Wind-Riding Pendant and dashed toward the light wall. Upon reaching it, he didn’t slow down, instead stepping onto the wall to scramble upward before performing a backflip to clear the shockwave.
After landing, Lu Yi flicked his right hand, sending a fan-shaped barrage of black light orbs toward the Guardian.
The Guardian’s gaze remained fixed on Yu Chan. Hearing the sound from behind, it didn’t even turn its head, merely raising its left hand with casual indifference. When the light orbs were still several meters away, they suddenly veered off course, converging into the Guardian’s hand where they were compressed and vanished.
"Sweetheart Yiyi: Wow, this Guardian isn't even looking at the streamer."
"Feng: That’s only natural. The streamer only managed to defeat the previous Guardian by exploiting its weakness. In a head-on clash of raw strength, he is clearly at a disadvantage. This Guardian is even more formidable than the last, and Lu Yi has yet to display any other means of posing a real threat to it. Naturally, the Guardian wouldn't bother paying him any mind."
"Pestering Noble Lady: Indeed. When the streamer fought those three people earlier, the lack of actual combat power was already exposed. I went to watch the footage of the Windchaser Squad’s battle against the Guardian; even with nearly their full roster, they were completely helpless against it. The streamer's attacks alone are truly not worth the Guardian's attention."
"Sweetheart Yueyue: Even so, I still hope the streamer can pull off a miracle and show this Guardian what he’s made of."
The Guardian unleashed several ripples toward Yu Chan, all of which she dodged in advance. However, hindered by the Guardian's relentless assault, her own limited counterattacks proved ineffective. Soon, the black light orbs were completely extinguished. The Guardian pushed its left hand toward Lu Yi, and a silver-gray ring of ripples surged toward him instantly.
Lu Yi frowned. The Guardian was focusing all its attention on Yu Chan, which meant she possessed an ability that the Guardian found troublesome. Furthermore, the silver light had not obstructed Lu Yi during his first pass, yet it had blocked Yu Chan; this confirmed that the Guardian viewed her as a significant threat.
Licking his lips, Lu Yi thought to himself:
